| i compleatly understand supporting 2 strokes, im all for taht, but i just hate it when people know that a 4 stroke is better sometimes, and do what ever they can to deffend the 2 stroke even tho they dont have an actual reason to |

| I am not gonna hate on a 4 stroke.I particualarly dont care much for them.I see them as a potential time bomb. When they blow, they blow big.Lotsa $$$$$$ to rebuild the engine. I will say this once and that is all. When the new 4 stroke craze hit,the value of the 250R dropped like a rock in a pond. I firmly believe that a weekend warrior racer, will find that he cannot afford the constant engine work associated with a newer 4 stroke that races on a weekend basis. Hence, once these guys figure that out, they will be out looking for nice 250R's to get back on the track. Therefore,I think the R value is set to skyrocket, to pre 4 stroke costs. A good rider with a well set-up R with a 265 kit,can smoke a good 450 rider all day long. All though I have heard good things about the LTR450,I see too many 450R's a YFZ 450's with waisted cranks and engines sitting in the repair shops. That is what drives me away from them. My friends 85 ATC 250r is on the stock crank and has not been rebuilt since 1999.It was runing fine, but getting weak. He just now pulled the jug to rebuild it.He rides it every weekend,in some of the worst conditions you can find. That says something about the 250R. I highly doubt, you will ever see a new 4 stroke go 20 some years on a stock crank, let alone 10 years on a top end job.. FASTR,ask yourself this form a different view. IF a LTR 450 is soo much better than a 250R,then why does this guy want to trade down to you??????Examine that question from all angles, and think about it. Just some food for thought there.

| well im not trading, im jstu gunna sell the R, but Rs jstu cant make the power that 450s do wtih out big bore, which destroys the botom end, and even then they will be struggling to make the same torque as a race 450, so then you end up putting a 4mil on a 350 pv, and the obvious outcome of that is once again lose in reliability and heres a dyno of a stock ltr and a ltr with just a yoshi pipe which isnt the greatest pipe out there ![]() |
