| I agree either the 870 or the Mossberg 500. I have a Mavrick 88 which is the Mossberg 500 just made by the other brother and I have had it for the past 17 years. I have only broken the slide once but easily replaced. I only paid $187 for back in 1991. Most police and sheriff's use the 870's. It's what I have in my car right next to my AR-15.

| 870 hands down is one of the best guns you can own, they are reliable and i think sticker price is only like 300 at walmart... i once fell off my duck boat and my gun went into the mud at the bottom of the river... i swam down and by the grace of god i found it.... flushed it out with some river water, then greased it up good with some remington oil, and killed several more ducks that day... i got it 17 years ago and i bet i have put a million shells throug it and never had a problem... mine shoots the 2 3/4 and the 3 inch mags... get the super mag if you can it'll shoot the 3 1/2 mags, and you can really reach out to those geese....

| I use a Mossberg 500 Turkey gun with Mossy Oak break up pattern. I believe it's the 805 but I bought a modified, full, improved cylinder, full and turkey full choke for it. Great all around gun. My vote is either the Mossy or the 870 wingmaster or express.

| well thats where you run into a bit of a complication... of course a double barrel break action is going to be the quickest draw on skeet and pheasant thats when i use my ruger red label, it's a double barrel over under 12 ga i keep the top barrel full choke and bottom barrel modified, i can really knock the pheasants out of the air before they get to far away... i think it's more of a personal opinion though... both the mossberg and 870 are pump action, which i like for duck and geese mostly because i can fit 5 in the feeder tube and quantity is important with high flying birds, i have a browning A5 which is semi auto, i really like the way it feels it's to light though in my opinion i rarely use it to hunt mostly because i like the feel of the 870 better and i don't wanna ruin it, it is a collector.
