It's interesting that it made more torque then horsepower. Also it looks like it doesn't really have expansion chamber pipes at all. If it's an old outboard motor, the majority of them are rated at 250hp tops and gawd their expensive.
Very expensive. Boat motors have gargantous amounts of torque throughout their somewhat narrow powerband. Most boat motors dont rev real high. It takes alot of torque to move through water

You guys should check out the 2 stroke diesels if you get a chance. Now those are pretty sweet. My father in law worked for Detroit Diesel for 30+ years, now he has his own Diesel business(Marine only). He used to tell me about them for the longest time, then last year I got a ride on a boat with a pair of them. It was a big big boat!! And it moved really good, plus it was very smooth. A lot less vibration than the normal 4-stroke diesels. Pretty cool sound too. Different, but cool.
I can't remember the exact size of them, but they were pretty large for sure!!
