too bad you can get any mass produced car with that much naturally aspirated hp anymore. Shit my truck's got a supercharger and it only has 380hp at the crank.

I go to a few car meets and there's some old cars that have some work done to it. My buddy who rides shee's from me over at hq has a 442 cutless. Talk about bad ass!

As for marine outboard engines, it seems there was a 4 stroke trend for a few years. People started seeing all the upkeep and started to go back to 2 stroke. That's my opinion though i might be totaly wrong.

There is more upkeep on a two stroke outboard than a four poke. But just like quads my Evinrude 225 will pull a wicked holeshot!!!

imagine that with 8 individual expansion chambers jammed in the back, each cyl had its own pipe, would be a waste of weight that could be saved, but it would look awesome that is a pretty damn cool idea, i like it, im suprised its not pushin more power though, i would kill to drive that

Not true there are naturally aspirated ones and supercharged only ones too. I have ridden on a small private ferry boat that had a big naturally aspirated 2-stroke diesel. Most of the industrial truck applications had a supercharger mounted to the lower side of the crankcase. They do sound badass though. Sometimes they would overheat and you couldn't shut them down, sometimes not even if you put it in top gear and dump the clutch.

well i think that even a 4 into 1 expansion chamber on each side could help significantly

detroit had 72, 92, and one inbetween that i cant remember, they were v6 and v8, oil droling monsters, ive worked on a few, over the road trucks were blown, dont know about marine. when they put 2 in a boat one would run in reverse the outher was normal. just a few changes and they would ru backwards, its cool, they did not pull the charge form the crank like 2 strokes

whoops dint mean to put that all in there lol technically the turbo and supercharger didnt really do all that much for the old detroits that had them because they needed both of them just to run because the turbo and supercharger scavenged the fuel into the cylinders

It's interesting that it made more torque then horsepower.
im guessing that it has a long stroke, the zilla's have roughly as much torque as they do HP for this reason, if you ever noticed the CR 500's will have big HP but not torque numbers

They need the blower to run... the turbo is added on some models for more power.. I spent almost a year driving a 6v-92 turbo powered dump truck in and out of a pit... my ears are still ringing 5 years later... fun to drive though... they seem to develop oil leaks about as fast as you can fix them, and what doesnt leak out ends up coming out the exhaust...
