Default Anybody Ride @ Pismo Beach

May go down there with my lt250 in a month or so.
Hows the riding?
Is there night riding, or only daytime?
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks

My family and I have been going every summer since I was 8 years old, and now im almost 16. Anyways, you can ride day and night. But trust me, everyone says Pismo is great and blaa blaa blaa. Well, 5 years ago it rocked. Since then, the enviromentalists have closed down a HUGE amount of riding areas. It gets really cramped, and everyone riding in a small area equals ROUGH sand dunes. I can get to the very back of the dunes on my dads z400 in 15 minuets. You know your in the very back when you get to the fence of a large glass plant. I have alot of fun every year we go, but the quality of the place has gone way down. Its fun, just dont think your gonna get a "god like" riding experience. On a side note, my quad, 87 trx250x ( its the one my pop gave to me, and yes its SLOW) will go up any hill back there. The dunes are nowhere near the size of glamis dunes. But down let my griping keep you from going, im sure youll have loads of fun.

a long time ago they closed off a lot of pismo, and it killed a lot of riding, i had no clue that they closed down more in the last 5 years. but either way its a lot of fun to go their the dunes are relatively small, so its good if you are a beginner.

its allowed during certain months of the year....but they never enforce it. They make so many new bikes red sticker, they would have a hard time enforcing it anyway.

The Green Sticker Or Red Sticker: If you are going to operate a motorized vehicle off-road only, you must have either a Green Sticker or a Red Sticker that has been issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles. The Green Sticker allows vehicles to operate on public land all year. The Red Sticker is for motorcycles and ATVs model year 2003 and newer that do not meet the emission standards established by the California Air Resources Board. If the vehicle has a 3 or a C in the eighth position of the Vehicle Identification Number, then it does not meet the emission standards and should be issued a Red Sticker. The Red Sticker is exactly the same as the Green Sticker except that these vehicles can only be operated during certain times of the year. To find out when you can operate your vehicle, call the specific riding area that you want to visit or you can look it up on the CARB website at http://www.arb.ca.gov/homepage.htm.

pismo is a blast, its relatively close to where I live (VC) the temps stay nice and cool and there is enough varied terrain to keep you happy, you can ride at night too, but you pretty much need a headlight, it gets really dark back there.

yeah, i had a blast
camping on the ocean is awesome

there were alot of meatheads downthere though, so it was kinda crazy in the middle of the day

a group of 10-15 guys showed up with 8 4 strokes on a trailer all sitting on thier tails

needless to say it took them awhile to get them started, looked like they came right off the showroom floor
