Default 86 LT250R flat top piston

I want to shave my dometop piston in my 86 quadracer to a flat top. what other than shaving the piston is involved in this modification? what parts off of other bikes will work, and what about porting?

What exactly do you think your going to gain? And what do you plan on doing to the head so it will run correctly after?

my last boss was a the state champion in hot saw racing for 2 or 3 years, and he has built several state champion winning saws for other people. his name is wayne slayton out of jackson alabama. he runs a stihl ms460 with a removable head, +4mm crank, flat top piston, custom expansion chamber, and runs it about 60:1 nitromethane to oil. i asked him why he ran a flat top piston in his saws, and he told me that he didnt give out information on his engines. i kept buggint him until i finally dcided to try to argue that a dometop piston is better. the first time i tried it, he said, i think you just want to argue. i said well, if i can get info out of you about the flat top, then yes, i am arguing. he said, you cant argue with success. he has a website called racesaws.com. go check it out.

Here you go, some info.

I wouldnt waist the money personally, you would be much better off with having the porting changed than the piston. Changing the piston is not going to make a difference your going to see.
