Default boost ported pistons?

I ordered a nacs racing catalog and they will add bost ports to 250r pistons, i was wondering if a boost port would work with a blaster, the blaster intake ports have the 2 side by side rectangle ports then the little rectangle port above those 2 but the piston only has the 2 side by side, so would adding a port the size of the smaller port on the intake to the piston give it more power?

when yo u look at your blaster piston your gonna realize theres 2 windows in it alreadyand yes those can be modified to allow faster revs ,but they will need to be done right and itll reduce the life expectancy of the piston slightly. it makes more sense to incorporate this into the port job by changing the intake on your cylinder ,theres a certain way to do it so it doesnt put stress into the piston and crack around the windows, and going into it with a silicon oxide grinding wheel on a dremel isnt it .

I add them, its only one hole and is in a totally different place than a blaster. Its centered and right below the bottom ring. I havent had any problems with reliability on one. In fact the big bore wiseco's for the Pro-X jugs come with them. I did have a problem with my 310 one cracking, but I was having tons of predetonation issues and the cracks around the boost port were tiny in comparison the the one strait up the intake skirt. I wouldnt expect to notice a difference not pay much for one. I normally charge 10 bucks to cut one, thats it.

i have taken the intake window on the back of a piston and raised an lowered it before (tecate 4) and also when i widen the intake port i trim the piston window to match.....

the reason i raised and lowered the window on teh tecate is because the intake port is the entire height of the intake box on a tecate.... so to adjust the intake duration you'd have to vary the height of the piston intake window....

Trinity Racing sells Wiseco/Trinity I guess Superlite pistons for the blaster that have the port I'm talkin about. Anyone know if they would actually improve power?

, youll gain a tad quicker response ,nothing super noticable , but it may shorten the life of the piston prematurly.

i don't really see it making the psiton life any shorter... it's not really in the skirt.. but more in the actual MEAT of the piston.. that area right there i dont; see takign the amount of abuse that the skirt takes.... i can't say i've ever seen a yamaha piston cut that way... maybe i'll try that on a set of banshee pistons

usually the y crack around the intake windows ,if wiseco could make a piston that performed better and was just as reliable id have to think theyd just replace the standard pro lite series instead of having companies like vitos and such mod the m up ,they like theyre reliable reputation ,im thinking , now the lil boost port adeed above may very well still keep things reliable, either way theres not alot of gain for the chance IMO
