This site has the best set up I have seen to date.

I am a new and big fan of Polaris 2-stroke ATVs. I currently own a nice 2001 Xplorer. I read everything, and I know that most think Polaris is a joke, but I would really like to chat with those who like them.

My next bike is going to be a 400. I like these machines, and I know they have tons of power.

I had a 1980 or 81 (can't remember) KDX 250 when I was a kid, and that thing was great. I was 13 when my dad bought it for me. Crazy fast, and cool because my buds had 80's and 100's. I will never forget the power of that bike. But it broke my heart. 1 bad tank of gas and a crank bearing went where it shouldn't and it was over. It had a nikasil cylinder and the shop wanted $$$. My Polaris is newer-ish, I like it, and I'm going to put some, but not a lot , in it. Post as I go. I can't expect too much out of a 250 that weighs in at 574lbs(winch and armor didn't help).

Nitrousbaby, what does that 400 of yours run (HP, top speed)?

If I were to go a different route, with a rocket quad and all, which way do you guys think I should go? There are so guys I ride with that have 750 Brute Forces and they need to be schooled, but I will never be able to do it on my Xplorer. I've got to get a faster quad, and I don't really know which direction to go. Around here, you can get a 400l for roughly $1800-2500, an lt250 for $2000, a Banshee or an lt500 for around $3500, or a 250r for $4000 and up. If you guys can help me out, I'd appreciate it. Thanks

i think the foxy's he's talking about are the upgraded ones that you get instead of the ryde fx's... i have em on all 3 of my '99 400 scramblers (yes the 2 stroke smoke kind) i think it was around $200 extra.. definatly worth it since it is rebuildable
