I need help with my 1985 trail boss 250.

when you used gasket material to make your own gaskets did you make sure it was of the correct thickness? if you used too thin of a material that would be where your detonation problem is coming from.

Ok, I have been so busy with work I haven't had time to get on here. I finally got it running. It was the rectifier coil. I think that is what it is called. Anyway I basically looked over all the wiring on the quad and fixed so many cut wires and burnt spots. I got the part I needed from bike bandit and it worked out good. I had spark and soon as I put it in and fixed all the wiring. If anybody needes any ignition parts for a ninteys polaris 2 stroke I have everything attacked to the stator plate contact me. I didn't realize that they were different and I got it off ebay.
