| I just bought a 1986 TB from a buddy and I got it to start once and it just went to full throttle, then I spent time trying to figure that out - and havent yet but now I have no or little spark... any ideas on this? I have a new fully charged battery and new plug - I am thinking it is a coil but can a coil give spark then not? Thanks!! |

| Hi, I just fixed my 1986 trail boss and it was a pain. I had a lot of melted insulation on the ignition system wires near the engine. Have you taken off the pullstart cover and the flywheel? That is where you will find everything you probably need to check. I had a bad rectifier coil. You will need an small puller. You have to bolt the puller on and than use a socket wrench to tighten it. Try it out and then you will have to test each of the three peices. I got the specs off of bigbucks. Search for it on google. Tell me how it goes. I can give you more details. Thanks, Chris |
