Default Predator 90 problem

I bought my son a predator 90 and it was running great. It is setup to race with a motor kit, pipe, etc. Last night while he was riding, we heard a snap that sounded like the chain popping. When I got to the bike, there was oil coming out of the tranny right behind the sprocket. There is a small hairline crack in the case but I think I can weld it up. My question is about the noise. I have not had time to take the motor out or break it down, but I thought maybe some one else might have had this problem before. Any ideas to look for before I go home tonight and start working on it?

Actually I got it apart and I lost teeth on one of my gears. It pushed up against the case and caused it to crack. I am going to weld it because it is not a pressure holding res. so I think it will be alright. I need to know where to buy new gears and spline from. Anyone know a good place?
