anyone who has changed a track on a sled

Im putting a new track on my 2002 xc 700. I havnt done it in about a year or so and I wanna know, should i put the track on and then stud it or stud it and then put it on. the holes are predrilled I just have to put the studs in...

anything else you think I might forget let me know...

I allready took the suspension out and cut the old track off. I gottta take the grab bar, side snow skirts, and snow flap off and fix it and re riviet it.
(when my old track went bad it hit my snow flap and.... well you know it chewed it up pretty bad...

ummmmmmm i would say put it on then stud it but make sure that the track is lose and then tighten it up when ur done then you dont have to worry about studs stabbin u when ur puttin it on.

I think thats the way im gunna do it for that exact reason...

Put the track on first and then stud. It`s alot easier that way so you don`t get jabbed with studs putting it on. Tracks can be a bitch. Just make sure sled is supported proper and don`t fall on your arm. I`ve done that before and thought I broke it, so I built 3 lifts at work and don`t have that problem. One thing nice about the stands it that you can sit on a little chair and do the studs. Motor work is up to where you don`t have to bend over.

I have changed prolly 6 or 8 tracks but its been over the last 15years and I havnt done it in a while and ive never had to stud and mount the same track...

OOOOO sleds kick ass. I have been a sled head as long as I can remember.... nothing like hitting a frozen lake or a groomed trail that is as wide as any major road. 90+mph through tight twisty trails constantly for miles and miles only inches off the ground with the power of a huge two stroke between your legs.... its the best feeling in the world. I have had fast bikes and ridden very very fast bikes. I have owned and ridden fast quads, jetskis, boats, and cars and nothing does it for me like sledding. its all great but sleddin rules

wow. im on the way out to the garrage to take hot laps around the house on the sled. that post got me all excited

Ive never been sledding! Hard to beilive. I need to try to go sleding some time.
