Default newbie? trailboss 250

ok in the manual it shows reeds but i can't seem to find them. anyone have a pic of what they look lke on a 87 250? i have the head off right now my piston was toast. also how do i get the wrist pin out i took out the clips but i can't get the pin out.

well i did some searching and there are no reeds on this bike it works by some vac caused by the stroke. but still need help on the wrist pin

take one guy and hold the piston tight. the other guy take the end of a 3/8" drive and a rubber mallet and wack away...

yeah wristpins sometimes feel like they are pressed in. haha careful wacks tho dont want to damage the rod in anyway.

that engine is a piston port engine. no reeds. i am servicing one right now. pull the circlips from the wrist pins and take a 10mm deep socket and knock the wrist pin out.

you need a special tool for the piston pin it's called a BFH. a Big F#@king Hammer...lol

well the bfg worked. it would not start when i got it i rebuilt the carb and replaced the coil any other thing that would cause it not to start? i can check while i am waiting for my new piston.

depends, did it have spark? Could have been just a dirty carb. Really depends on whether or not you had spark to the plug.

i had spark. just wondering if it was just the rings mashed into the side of the piston and a huge gouge inthe piston

Default spark and fuel but no start

im having the same problem with my wifes cyclone it has good hot spark and plenty of fuel because after a while the plug gets wet from pull starting so much . but it wont start . it has back fired out the carb a couple times thats it help me some please
