97 250 trail boss won't run

Hi all this is my first post so bare with me. I got this 97 trail boss new in 97 never had a problem with it till now. It is my wifes and she drives real slow,its only been used here on the farm. The problem is that it was getting harder and harder to start and now won't start at all. I put a new coil and plug in it, no help. Shot some gas in the plug hole, no help. Need help. My ride is a polaris 500 mag.

how long do you let it sit between rides? if it sits for a month or more you may need to clean the carb real good. and use new gas

clean the carb and check the compression

Presuming you have spark, compression and fuel getting to the cylinder. First I would check your float needle and seat. It could be flooding itself out before you even attempt to start it. By adding fuel to the plug hole you could be making it worse.
