Match the VIN. Im sure theres someway to find out what year by using the vin. What year is your trail boss? Polaris did make some of the most realible Oil injection Systems.

on polaris trailbosses the year is stamped on the front hood. unless the hood is aftermarket. you have the sticker where the canadian leaf is the year is around there. if not then youll have to get the vin from the front right underside and call polaris

On the older ones the year is on a sticker that’s located just below the cylinder on the case by the pull start. Might be kind of hard to see under the dirt & oil. If it’s not there than you can check the down tube of the frame buy the pull start. The vin # should be stamped there. Before 87 they didn’t have the 17 digit number if that helps.
