Default Oil Injection block off

Hey guys would it work if you just unhooked the cable that runs the pump and left the oil tank full, and premixed your gas? Would that cut off all of the oil injection pump or would it still mix some? I would just like to KNOW I have oil in my gas when Im riding.

Thank

you still need to remove the pump. no oil could cause it to seize and cause other problems, eays to remove and block off, you can make a plate or buy one, just need pump and clutch gasket. and longer bolts

Why do I need to remove the pump? If I unhooke the cable, and left the tank filled with oil cause I heard that on idle it would still pull in just a little oil, so why couldnt I just do that and premix my gas? I guess I just dont totally understand how these things work. By the way its on a 1991 Polaris Indy 500.

with the cable off, lines hooked up it will pump small amount of oil all the time,as t
engine increases speed the pump will be pumping the same and would
be insuficient lubrication without premix gas, what i do is unhook the cable
and all oil lines remove the tank(extra room is nice)and just plug thelines
running to the engine dont woory about the pump, ive ran them this way
and never had a problem, it may ruin the pump but they are a dime a dozen
if tou are worried about your pump you can route your lines from the engine back to the tank so it just circulates through the pump,or for trails i just tighten the cable all the way for max lube

just buy the oil injection block off kit from Hotseat performance, its only like $15 and takes 20min to install, all you do is take the pump off and put the plate on, and tie the cable out of the way. i did it to my quad and started premixing after the pump failed.
