yea that would probably be great for yours if it fits. It would make it more like an alky breathing 426, than the 4-poke like tourqe monster that it is now.

I'd have to say the "old" Polaris two strokes are quite under rated. With a mild port job and HPD pipe/silencer it is amazing the difference in the '06 TrailBlazer we have. It is like a whole new machine. The 400's are also very easy to get a substantial amount of power out of (AAEN, Ritter racing and HPD have done a lot of work with them), I have ridden a buddies HPD setup 400 scrambler and it can give any of the new "HO" 500's fits (like the 500 Scrambler or the Renegade 500) and it is not an all out drag motor, it's only putting out 55-60 HP, was setup as a "fast trail" motor and has been very reliable.

Did Polaris ever make a 4x4 400 2 smoker? Is that what the trailblazer is?

Oh dont get me wrong, they can me made to run great. a friend of ours has a trailblazer that is dune ported and a pipe and it has beat 400ex's pretty easily. IT IS STILL A POLARIS though. I'm not a big fan of the polaris but with the right amount of work they are alright.

True that. Don't get it twisted I love my Blasty but I do wonder how much hp is left on the table with those extra rpms I could be getting.

probably a lot. DG pipes are shit for anything but tourqe IMO. I have one laying around for the quadracer and have only used it for 30min. I hated that thing.

I had to chuckle over the "it is still a polaris..." part, they are not my first choice in atv's, we have now had 4 of them including the '06 trailblazer (which we bought new in March this year, it was a leftover). In my opinion they don't seem to stand up cosmetically as well as the "big 4" (Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, Kawasaki) do, but they do seem to be reliable enough mechanically. So far the TrailBlazer is the exception, with a years riding it still looks brand new, and is actually quite easy to work on. The main reason it is in our "stable" is the CVT, my wife decided after 2 years of riding the Blaster that she would prefer an automatic. it is one of the best of the new crop of 250's in my opinion, Suzuki and Honda in particular have to step up and start putting much better suspension in their 250's (just my opinion), the TrailBlazer is head and shoulders above the other 250's in the suspension department.

But my LT still kicks it's butt! LOL

polaris engines ca nbe made ot run but thye are pretty archaic designs and i have found ample time to meticulously paint my toenails as im waiting on the anemic CVTot finally engage and generate power throug hthe rear wheels .the weight of these tanks is ridiculous the polaris sport and trailblazers are built like 1930's wrought iron tractors .if you ever did makea true 75 horse the wieght and cvt would quickly rob the advantage ,but i n their defense i have seen 2 polaris400's 4wd quads that were setup for drags that did rather well against banshees and zillas in 500 feet ,theyre actually only 376cc btw and the factory porting is right out of 1960 's on the cylinders.i thin k theres tons to gain performance wise but at what cost ?and what final output could be acheived compared to the competition? i would love ot see an accurate dynojet true rear wheel 75 usable horsepower come out of one these hpd polaris quads before my eyes on gas -no nitrous and hold together under temperature all day long

They have a Race mod kit that claims to make 85hp but the catch is its at the crank not the rear wheels.
