| im an "optimist" but im also a "realist" if these claims were really true why would anyone build a sabertooth or an ESR big bore stroker..a shinx or a CR500r or any large single for that matter ...seems it would be a huge waste of money when theres an easy affordable bolt on kit for a rideable automatic powerhouse ,if it was that simple and 85 hp was happening o n a true 4 wd ...(imagine the traction and never a missed shift) dont yo uthink eveyone on planet sand would run polaris trailblazers at the drag strip lol thats all youd see at the dirt drags

| And thats what I meant when I said "its still a POLARIS", Its not half as easy to get these things turn a legitamet 85hp and actually run with the banshee's and other large bore drag motors. It can be done but its very expensive and its still an automatic.

| i have seen the m beat down ported banshes and zillas in a dirt drag ,(which is still a bit of a shock to me ) so iknow theres definitly real potential there.. just seems the downfalls dont out weigh the advantages atleast IMHO

| Yeah, that was my trade post. This is the 1st polaris (and automatic) that I've ever owned. I was surprised how quick this thing is in stock form. Makes an awesome hillclimber. |

| unfortunatly all that two stroke ass is being lost through the polaris drive train i raced a worked 400 sport with my 4 poke 440ex i beat him ,not by much but i think its pretty sad a 400 4stroke beat a worked 400 2stroke. thanx polaris Last edited by tughill283; 12-07-2007 at 05:33 PM. |

| CVT's can actually be quite efficient, but it'll cost you about $1500 (at least up here) and then they are really only good for dragging. If setup right, they hit peak horsepower almost instantly and stay there till they have shifted all the way up. The biggest problem, imho, is the bloody weight of the things. The '06 Trailblazer is making more power now than my LT250 did stock, but the wet weight is at least 150lbs heavier. With the few bolt on mods to my LT it will run circles around the TrailBlazer, and believe me, we spent far more $'s per horsepower on the TrailBlazer than on my LT. JJ

| I'm still running the original chain/sprocket/transmission/engine on my 1998 Trail Boss 250 two-stroke. I need a new carb, though. They are what they are... Automatic, but highly reliable. BTW, I have the papers that came with my ATV when I got it new in 1998, and it says the carburetor on the Trail Boss has bigger jets than the Trail Blazer, but it weighs a little more. But, the Trail Boss runs better than the Trail Blazer stock for stock. Don't underestimate them, though. They run exactly how they were meant to. I think they came from the factory with 22 or 25 horsepower, and that's how they run. Pretty quick (considering weight/tranny) up to 50-55 mph. I've also used mine to haul wagon loads of mulch and wood (17 cubic foot wagon). This Polaris was built TOUGH. Very reliable. Seen many, many hours of WOT. |
