any sizable amount of upgrades wouldnt you have to really beef up the tranny too? i cant see the stock automatic handling a lot of power? could be wrong!!!

120 psi, wont run, just backfires thru exhaust or carb.

well.... you got spark??? what color is it??? sounds to me like you may have a broken flywheel keyway (happened on my T4 last night) or 87 T4's are horrible for the magnets comming looses on teh fylwheel and that usually ruins the stator. anyway the backfire but has compression and getttign gas is exactly what mine did klast night. i say check for spark. teh spark should be blue not orange

im gonna say your problems are electrical. i would start at the stator and work my way through the ign. sys. dont rule out simple things like bad grounds and rotting insulation on wires.

check the simple stuff first like loose conections and things but i;d also check your spark for color. like i said above your spark should be blue.
