Anybody Know Where I Can Find A Tranny For This 87 Cyclone? It Is A Single Range Forward And Reverse. I Found One On Ebay Though I Can't Guarantee I Will Win The Auction. Other People Are Interested. Can The Newer Style High And Low Range Tranny Be Retrofitted? This Is The Only Thing Left Keeping Me Off This Bike. Any Ideas?

The trail boss 325 that i was working on a few months ago was single range forward, neutral and reverse so there are still quite a few around. Can you send me the link to the ebay auction and ill see if it looks similar to the newer styles.

I read your other post about the hole in the tranny. Cant you just get it welded up?

In addition to a hole in the tranny where the swing arm bolts rest, it also needs a forward idler gear. At least that is what i think it needs, i haven't pulled it apart yet i have seen parts breakdowns of it. From what the symptoms are, i think it needs the forward gear. It functions fine in reverse but grinds going into forward and pops out of gear when applying the rear brake. I was hoping for a cheaper way out than the $209.95 gear from polaris. call up dirt cycles salvage in hopedale mass. he used to have a lot of polaris parts. maybe be cheaper than ebay too.
