Default Cyclone 250

another two weeks or so and i should be riding this thing. got the frame sandblasted and painted. stripped the tank today and painted that white. got some new used tires for it. the motor ought to be back from the machine shop next week and the tranny for it is coming from montana soon. can't wait to get on my cyclone and get the new paint covered in shit!

It is an 87 polaris cyclone 250. pretty rare bike actually. I have read that they only made 416 of these in 1987. aparently it goes pretty fast though i haven't ridden it yet. I bought it for $200 barely running. Only had 70 lbs of compression. and a broken tranny case. Thanks to ebay and my local machiunie shop though, it'll be running again in around two weeks.

sweet...never heard of that kind of quad before...is it like a trialboss but better?

yeah it's a rare bird. loving the project though. looking good. just got done with another day of painting. gotta wonder why it needs to look so good just to get covered in mud.

I like what your doing, you hardly ever see someone restoring old quads of that type, it's interesting so defiantly keep us updated.

That is one odd looking frame. I also respect what you're doing - keeping alive an old and rare quad. Definitely post pics when you finish this beast.

That is a beast i bet its lightnig fast too like 300mph. May i ask how you are painting it.

I sandblasted the frame and used high temp engine paint for the frame. chrysler industrial orange to be exact. i have used that on my car to do the brakes, it seems to have good durability. The tank I primed with plastic parts primer and coated it with white paint of the same type.
