we used to have a annual drag event al l the rednecks around here would enter in ,there was a group of guys fro m lower mercer county Pa. who had 400 polaris sport
quads that were built up and had extensive porting ,they would run with zillas ,piped banshees ,250r's al l day belive it or not they can run very strong when heavy modded , they werent hangin with drag banshees though .i was still impressed considering the size and weight .id buy it for playing around if it was only 1000$, but dont expect to be kickin ass at your local track or scoring an y hot cooter with it .

lmfao hot cooter..you know all those hot ass bitches show up at the hick drag tracks in the middle of no where haha. the bike can be lightened up regardless...and its already modded out decent. but like you said its gonna be mainly a play quad. could someday turn into a nice project though. i know in drag racing cars an automatic transmission can never be outshifted by a manual. i think those cvt's have potentional if the quad is built up properly.

yeah, with just a pipe and filter you can be above 50 whp easy. add some porting and a high compression head, a race clutch settup and you will be smokin fast.

Hey guys not trying to be a smart alec or anything but the guy here in Knoxvillle TN that owns the Polaris shop had one of these with a bolt on 65 hp kit , I think he had to do some machining to his cases though to make the bore work . Iwas skeptical too but when I rode it it was probably one of the fastest things Ive ever ridden . he had alot of other things done to make it right but when he was done he lenghtened the swingarm to keep the front end done ...I know that sounds hard to believe especially with the cvt but I rode the thing and it was absolutely wicked . It is amazing what some good mods can do to a mediocre quad .

I wanted to clear this up befire there was any confusion , I was not saying these would smoke shees or anything like that and I know this is not a full drag quad with 100 hp or anything but for a polaris it was wicked .

i totally belive yo u,as i have seen them run like yo udescribe ,i dont think they hold together very wel l though and ones i have witnessed had some extreme work done to them exhasut temp gauges ,huge drag pipe and steel girdle kits around the cylinder to keep them together under pressure.

i love this rednecks desacription lol what a fuckin hilljack he must be ,i gaurentee he has a a joe dirt mullet and wears lynard skynard T -shirts

YOU ARE BIDDING ON A 99' POLARIS SPORT 400.......I DUMPED SO MUCH MONEY IN THIS MACHINE, IT AINT FUNNY. WELL I TOLD MY SELF IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG WITH THIS BIKE, IM GOING TO SELL IT AND BUY ME A 4X4.......WELL FIRST OFF I WAS TRAIL RIDING WITH SOME FRIENDS AND, OF COURSE AFTER IT RAINS, AND WE WERE GOING THROUGH WATER AND MUCK AND MUD. UNFORTUNATLEY, MY BIKE SITS LOWER THAT MY FRIENDS BIKES AND I SPLASHED SO MUCH WATER THAT THE ENGINE SUCKED SOME IN AND QUIT RUNING. I GOT IT STARTED, SO I CAN GET MYSELF HOME. IT HAS POOR LOW END POWER NOW, BUT WHEN POWER BAND KICKS IN, THIS THING LIGHTS UP LIGHNTING FAST. BEFORE I SUCKED WATER IN IT, THIS THING WOULD MOVE OFF THE LINE SO QUICK U WOULD CRAP YOUR PANTS, NOW IT HAS POOR LOW END SO IT COULD BE ANYTHING AT THIS POINT. I HAVE NO TIME TO LOOK INTO FIXING THIS AND LIKE I SAID, IF IT BREAKS, IM SELLING IT AND GETTING A 4X4. ( I BET YOU THAT ITS SOMETHING REAL STUPID AND EASY TO FIND TO FIX IT.) I HAD THIS BIKE SINCE IT WAS NEW AND REVERSE WENT OUT OF IT( IT TOOK 6 YEARS FOR REVERSE TO GO) AND THE STARTER TOOK A CRAP SINCE THE HIGH COMPRESSION WORE THE THING OUT. ( I SHOULD HAVE REPLACED IT WITH A HIGH TORQUE STARTER.) SO I JUST PULL START IT. THE PULL STARTER ROPE DID BREAK, BUT I MANAGED TO FIX IT BUT WHEN YOU PULL START IT IT HAS SHORT STROKES. THESE PICTURES ARE RIGHT AFTER I WENT RIDING SO PLEASE DONT MIND THE MUD ALL OVER IT. ITS WHAT A TYPICAL ATV LOOKS LIKE AFTER DOING SOME RIDING..............WELL HERES THE GOODIES:
