Default Anyone know how to fix the reverse on a scrambler?

The reverse doesn't work on my dad's scrambler. No matter what position the shifter is in, it only goes forward. Any suggestrions?

A picture of it would help. Like the gear box where the shift linkage is attached. Look where the shift handle attaches to the transmission. On the linkage shaft there should be a way to adjust how far the lever on the trans moves back and forth to engage and disengage. I have not seen a scrambler but did this on a Polaris 4x4. It had to be adjust just so.
