damn that is a great idea for a mag...b/c everyone here knows DIRT WHEELS and those other magazines are pretty much garbage and the only 2-strokes that hit those pages are readers rides....so the idea of a strictly 2stroke mag would be excellent and i would def be a long time subscriber

I don't know what the cost for making this happen is, but assume we would be expected to pay so much per issue...which should cover some costs. Then there's possible classified space and ad space. And since members would be writing the aticles and sending in pics, the only cost should be paper, printing, and postage, right?

Keep in mind, 95% all my info/knowledge on 2 strokes comes from these forums and a little on bansheehq.

If i have a problem with my bike, i post it here. People have been able to figure it out every time. Amazing. I'd support a mag that could do the same or something close.

for the time being it would be paid for per issue. the clientel is narrowed down enough that they could pay individually per issue. i assume no one would require reimbursement for contributed articles....

a sample mag would be posted on open forums first for suggestions and to decide if the direction of the periodical would be something worth buying.

i don't think the price per issue would be outrageous either.... i assume people don't expect top of the line commercial paper and graphics or barnes and noble spine glue..... this would be a kinkos or home pc endeavor in the beginning.... the end result whether it be a decision to discontinue or upgrade isn't even something worth thinking about right now.

if the contributors trust me to not butcher their message, i would be the editor.

the problem is finding enough writers and 2stroke niches to keep a magazine interesting and fast paced.

and i think i'm answering yam's question, you are right. alot of the cost would be covered in individual purchases and classified costs.

also, the last thing i want to do is create a ridiculous girl scoutish cookie selling mantra - but i also think everyone knows at least one other person who would like to be able to buy a 2stroke rag instead of the usual atv slingers...............

there are some things a magazine can do that a computer can't. the internet is for instant gratification. people speed read and want to be entertained. they don't take the time out to read long stories or expanded technical information unless it directly pertains to them.

a magazine can do that with riding stories and trips. mods for certain sports. etc....

a lot of people that read mags. (guys mostly) tend to just look at the pictures and only read articles that peak their interest.. if ya need any help franny i'm right here and i have some expensive programs at my fingertips to help as well
