Try spraying them with mud instead I say!
I'll take that sand over dirt & dirt over mud anytime.. Don't get me wrong, I love me trails & my climbs too.
Sand isn't just sand. I love running thru rolling dunes in hella fast.. No particular trails or direction, see something you like and attack it.
Purposely sink myself in hole day or night & work it out from there, definately a challenge for man & machine!

Friend Andy moved from New Jersey to Cali. Took him to Pismo for the first time last summer & completely flipped out.
Glamis will be his first too, just got new paddles & he's never going back! Now were talking about the Dumont ride that Showtime is preparing!
P.S. The woods doesn't have China Wall

i would like to try dunes, just for jumping, but the idea of hillclimbing and just ridding 6th gear pinned forever sounds like it would get boring for me, i almost never ride trails, i either find them just boring, or unrideable with a 2 wheel drive quad, the track is where its at for me

lol.. Dunes aren't flat & you can't keep it open thru all those gears!
There's designated drag spots for WOT runs, only a few areas where you can keep it going thru 6th.
Pinned on 5th thru endless whoops, how bout that?
Pinned on 5th down Sand Hwy, carving thru the sand riding walls... I have a huge interest in that!

He says that now...
His opinion would change once his tires hit sand.
The feeling is undescribable! Ive been riding sand
all of my life. Each time is totaly different, thats the
cool thing about the dunes, if you dont like the
terrain...give it a week and it will be completely
different. Damn...now I wanna ride!

On quads I often get bored at the dunes... Although I do enjoy the sand traps and drag racing... I generally prefer the woods... The skill required to tackle technicle obsticles, and the sack required to make the big climbs makes it much easier for me to stay ahead of my buddies... And riding the forrest service/logging roads behind locked gates on the way to the good trails is always fun... Blowing the paint off your friends bikes never gets old...

I love technical trails, hill climbs, and the blur of the trees 6 inches away when you are in fourth or fifth. With that, it still can't beat going to the dunes where the jumps are as big as you want them to be and the landing is always softer than dirt. FastR, I spend most of my time at the track too, but it can't beat the elevation changes of a jump at the dunes. Also, there aren't many jumps on the track that you can hit in 5th or 6th.

man, today i went to my friends land to trail ride, those are the hardest trails ive ever riden in my life, and ive ridden alot of trails. i just dont like using my YZ125 on the trails its super hard, barely get traction with that thing. there was a cool part to the trails where you have to ride through a shallow creek (like 4 inches) for a while i liked that but, i guess it depends, i dont like going on the trails that you go 10mph on and have to stop to 2mph every corner. but i like the trails that you can ride like 15-20 on and barely slow down for the turns.
The funny part was my friend went through what he thought was a puddle and accually turned out to be a 2 foot water\mud whole, he went through it and fell off and his whole bike was under water for about 5 secs surprised it started.
so yeh i dont like all trails.
