when we run drags, we always collect ALL of the money while evryone's mouths are bigger than their wallets, that way no matter what happens, the winner gets the loot. I will say that you won, but you didn't win anything. I'm gonna vote that you lost because nobody felt strongly enough to wager anything on their performance! By our rules, once you agree to a race (handshake, money changes hands, or even a head nod) YOU ARE OBLIGATED TO RUN THAT RACE unless both parties have an excuse (rain? or both motors blown?) If you showed up to the track with a better vehicle than the other guy, you won, but you don't have bragging rights, except that you can build a more dependable rig.
DON'T YA WISH YOU WOULD'VE PUT $200 DOWN?
I say that you prevent this sorta thing in the future by coming up with some horribly humiliating thing for the looser to do, that way if someone is robbed of bragging rights, at least we'll all have something to talk about on e2s.
Why don't you guys put money down? or maybe both of you buy halfs of a sweet mod, (like beadlocker rims, smk buys 1 front and 1 rear, balla does the same), then shoot it out to see who gets the booty, just decide if its a hail-mary drag or best of 3 or 5 BEFORE you race, NOT after someone looses once.
We run almost purely hail-mary type of drags, but there is a lot of double-or-nothing offers.
