370, i would like a full drag port, but it sounds like i will lose all the torque i need to get up the hill if i take the exhaust up too much. you're also saying that both transfers should be angled up and towards the exhaust, correct? i'm sure there are all kinds of secrets and tips to doing this correctly, and i understand you guys get paid to do this, so you're not going to let me know all your secrets. but i do appreciate the help!

Thats where all the fun is, yank yank.

I think what Evil is getting at is the tallest durations and the highest peak hp make a dyno queen but not always the fastest bike from here to there. Usable power is the key. Thats why these 4 strokes with 70's-80's hp on gas are running such fast times in relation to a 70-80hp banshee.

i don't get paid to port... i only port my own stuff.. and i'm still rather new at it... just liek to chime in with things i;ve heard and used myself..... i personally have a 200/134 ported stock stroke and it does lack alot of bottom end.... i haven't ridden it much latley but when i did i got very good at double clutching......

personally the most fun quad i've ever owned is the last one i built... very budget friendly engine.. 192/126 port, head milled .030 port, +4 timing, boysen reed petals on ported stock cages... not the fastest banshee i've ever ridden.. but fun as hell..... for your application... being a hillshooter and not just a dragger... your not looking for a full drag port.... you still need some bottom end... denny's on the right track IMO.... if you build it to squeeze about 180 PSI.. it outat come off the line very well and still rev way out.....

he'd need a new set of cyls... these are already ported for a stock stroke crank... if he wnet strocker you;d actually wanna drop the ex. and trans.... his are already rasied.... so if he droped them he's have way too much transfer height and a huge exhaust port... somewhere in the 204 range i think.....

i had 185 psi on the original port job with 18cc domes. since i am only raising the exhaust 1 deg i should still be alright with these domes, correct? i also have a set of stock unported cylinders that i plan on using to build a 396(4 mill crank with blaster pistons). the motor i am porting now is for me to learn and get some practice. again thank you guys for your help

18cc @ 185 should work good IMO raising it only an additional degree shouldnt really effect the static compression . good luck with your priject BTW

i don't think 1 deg difference.... will effect you compression much.. you may drop 1-2 PSI...

if the transfer angle is to sharp would nt it have a tendence to short ciruit out the exhaust and loose power . my 2.1 cents worth
