Default port finishing question?

hey guys this is my first post and i m glad to be on this kick ass forum!! anyway, my question is after you grind a port with a carbide bit what is the sequence of finishing a port or what grit you start out with 180, 240 , 320 grit or go finer than 320 grit im mostly referring to transfer ports and tunnels anyway thanks guys!!!

I use 80 grit sanding rolls for all intake/transfer ports
I somewhat polish the exhaust ports but don't spend lots of time on them.
Polishing helps keep some of the carbon build up down.
