Default Problem riding through water

Went riding today and its at the bottom of a ravine with a very shallow creek that you cross 50 times throughout the course of riding.
The first time I hit it hard water splashed up and the bike lost all power and wouldnt run on it own.
I pulled the plug and it looked great, but decided to change it anyway.
By the time I replaced the plug, it was running OK, but not great.
I putted around for awhile, but it wasnt until it sat for 20min that it really started running good.
It happened again, so after that I had to really poke through the creek everytime, which sux because I was lagging behind all my friends on thier 4 strokes.
There were other 2 strokes out there (Banshees) and none of them seemed to have a problem.
Any ideas where to start with this issue.

Thanks

check the wires coming out from the stator cover. the chain could be throwing water on a cracked or frayed wire causeing it to short out.

If you can't see an obvious exposed wire get a spray bottle and spray the wires one section at a time. The motor will cut out when you find the right spot. Just soak each section really good and let it sit sometimes it take a little bit to get the water to soak in.

alright
i sprayed the hell outta that cable and didnt get any kind of response from it
could be just not enough water, but im not sure
i was able to ride through water, i just could let it splash up at all
the wires off the stator seem to be encased, and fairly well, all the way up until the connectors near the spark plug
im not sure if these connectors are solid enough, or do they need some shrink tubing on them or something?

is it possible water is getting in the carb somehow?

Might be, if your box has a crack in it or something, the air filter could be getting water in it, I went through a creek on my Banshee and it did the same thing you're saying, didn't run right for about 20 minutes or so...I was getting water in where my snorkel used to be and it would spit and sputter and pop and crack and all kinds of shit until I finally found a stretch of blacktop to get it cleaned out again...so I'd be checking your intake stuff...and make sure your carb is airtight...
