help with banshee!!

I was out riding my banshee when it just died on me... I went to kick it and the kickstarter wouldnt budge! Any idea what is wrong and what could have caused this?

sounds like its seized up. Was the motor cold when you went riding? Did you mix the gas and oil? when a kick starter wont budge, it aint good!

it could just be something simple. i recently thought my bike seized up, but a timing plate screw came loose and was jammed against the flywheel. check over everything before you tear into it

I'd being willing to bet you either snapped a ring or melted a piston. Top ends are easy to replace and they aren't too expensive.

A quick way to check for a seized top end is to put the bike in gear lifted off the ground and see if you can roll the rear tires. If it will move and the top end is moving then drain the oil and remove the right side cover and see what is preventing the kickstarter from moving.

Sounds seized, same thing happened to my Banshee. The problem was from the reed cage. The stocker from 2000 was still on and had developed cracks that I was not aware of from age. Left cyclinder sucked a bunch of air and got hot, then the piston seized. Cost me $700.00

yup seized not good. check your coolant flow to. the guy i ride with seized his because the coolant impeller disinigrated and was getting no flow. thats the first thing i do now is change from that plastic piece of crap to a billet one.
