Default carb questions

I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions about making a stock air box work with a 38mm carb..I recently bought a 38mm carb from a buddy but he did not mention what I had to do, as far a carb boot to make the stock air box work. If anyone has any ideas let me know..thanks this is the only thing holding me back from riding..

it should fit it will be a little snug but you can get it on might have to heat the boot up a LITTLE BIT just to get it to stretch. my bro uses the stock boot on a 40.5
