Whats the best gas and premix to use on my stock motor? I keep fouling plugs ever since i put senthetic yamaha premix and 89 octain gas in my bike.

Alcohol is great it adds tons of torque even with a lot of exaust duration. It just allows a person to port a motor more severe and still maintain ridability. I love it, everyone thinks its hard to jet but with a booster carb its quite forgiving. The main drawback though is the consumption. It will burn 2X as fast at least when accelerating, you have to purge it out of the motor, and with a suzuki ive found that once the fuel level drop to where you can see the middle of the tank the supply pressure seems to drop and so does performance. Thats why I am installing a fuel pump.

All in all it's not something for the average person who rides in the dirt trails and likes to take long rides. It requires more attention to maintenance on the quad and as in my case a 1K longer swingarm

what is your top speed ? i was just woundering. I just bought the quad and im tight for cash rite now but im selling a mess of stuff so im trying to find out the best way to get neck breaking performance. Out of my friends i allways had the fasted quad. My old lt250 was very fast it was bored , rad valved, pipe and jetted and it moved out pretty good. Good enough to beat all my friends bikes. plus i only 160lbs & most of them are around and over 200lbs. I was thinking that has alot do do with me beating there bikes. Now they have all those new 4 strokes 450rx honda and that new yamahaa. And they are talking crap. I really want to smoke them good. Plus i am a better rider then them all except 1 of them. Put i still want to be able to ride in trails. When i ride i have the bike full throttle on everything I beat the hell out of it so i need something reiliable. Im a speed and power junky. What would you do if you where me? Ive had banshees and quadzillas and a mess of 250rs. But i seem to like the lt250 alot more. So getting another bike isnt a option

Well i hate to break it to you but without spending a lot of money Ex alcohol, big bore, etc your not going to smoke the 450's. They flat ass run good.
A good ported 250 with carb and pipe to match will run fair if not a little better. To have a two stroke you can ride everywhere your not going to be able to smoke the four strokes that day is over, but so is the reliability of the old four bangers. If you want to walk them without getting drastic I suggest you get a banshee or a big bore honda

I had a 4 stroke run even with mine the last time at the dunes. It was a 520 on alky but still a 4 banger.

you can make a old non PV lt250R run with a 450 4 poke. talk to flattrack. it;s funny but i was gonna do this exact thing. had a guy takling smack that had a 450R. turns out i bought his old lt250. the rasce was for $100 and he though i was gonna use my shee. little did he know my plans were to be $100 richer and smoke him with his old quad haha. anyway flattrack is the man to talk too.

A 89 quadracer is not a non powervalve motor. Well actually it is non of them have a powervalve it is more of a chamber that opens to fool the motor. If its one of the old 85 or 6 motors then no it wont out run a 450. I didnt know flattrack owned a suzuki seemed to me like he was a honda guy. When someone comes to OK and beets me with another suzuki 250 then I must say they will be the man for a suzuki motor.

ok i saw 89 octane up a few posts back haha. my eyes were playign tricks on me i guess. flattrack works on everything. he owns michaels motorsports. and yeah an 85-86 LT250 can beat a 450R with a little tweakin!!! hell a TRX250R isn't a powervavlve engine and it can lay waste to a 450R. all you need is a pipe and reeds. i've ran YFZ450's with my shee and they are no problem especially in the sand. and all i have is pipes i know for sure that there are plenty of mild 250Rs out there that can eat my stock but pipes shee for breakfast. oh yeah you wanna talk fast 250cc 2 strokes??? i know that a stock tecate 4 can eat up a 450r. now i just gotta find an all stock t4 to race one with!!!!!!

I got a little old Honda R, craptor,blaster, KX500 oh ya cant foreget the Gas Gas and T4 that i'm redoing just to race 370 with....... Im not a honda guy unless its a R.. Im acualy a Yamaha fan.... I don't think Honda made a good ride after the 250 and never was a Suzuki person but a two stroke is a two stroke and I can make then run.....

Well ok have you ever seen a 85-86 LT motor because the fact that they have no pv is about all they have in common with a 250r honda. The motor works entirely different and cannot run good enough to beat a 450 all other things equal. I have a 86 suz cylinder in my garage right now and to say it will run as good as honda is just funny. If your banshee is beating yfz's with only pipes then they are bad riders or are jetted wrong or something believe me. My dad also owns a 310r Ported by myself and 03 yfz450 so i have a bit of experience with both and we have owned 2 banshees. The 450 will not out run either of our 2 strokes when they hook up but if they dont have perfect grip it will eat the 310's ass. The flat truth is they make right at the same power as a mild banshee and mx built 250's with more torque and a tendancy to put the power to the ground much better. So if you win you must do it off the line that is where drag races are won or lost thats why suspension is so important.
