Nah, they are never gonna be able to totally ban all 2 strokes, there's too many of them. Although most of the motorcrossers are switching to 4 strokes, which is unfair with twice the powerplant anyways, but Charmichle beat all of them on a cr250, so it shows still it's the rider. They may try to ban them, but it will never happen, and they will never be able to ban them from regular riding. Go with the 2 stroke 80 or buy a 4 stroke 250, the 4's suck anyways and if you rode the 2 of them you would be more impressed with the 80. I rode a friends yz 250f i was climbin in 4th gear, it sucked ass, so i got my bike in 2nd and blew it away. They jus outright suck, they backfire and pop and if you let off and recrack the throttle the ol bitches stall anyways.

the people leading the fight are uneducated and look at the stats that lean in their favor and instead of stand up and fight the media ie:dirtwheels just jumps the fence and starts supportign 4 strokes. why make waves when you can make $$$ right!!. F*CK dirtwheels

Dirt Wheels used to be for the 2 strokes. They did an article in 2002 i believe (its january i think, it has the "new grizzly 660" on the cover, and they had an article against the epa. They said that on average, it takes 25 banshees to pollute the same as 1 city bus. Also, did you guys know that at a certain rpm in a 2-stroke, it is 99% fuel efficient. With a little research, there will be more production 2 strokes. There isn't a ban on and 2-stroke, and there never will be. The epa wants all vehicals to pass an emissions limit that just so happens to be to strict for MOST (not all) 2-stroke to pass. This is just a recession, not the end. Mark my words, you will be able to buy a brand new, kickass production 2 stroke in a atv in the future. I'm not talking about a banshee of blaster or trail blazer either. I'm talking about a possible throw back quad such as a "250r/lt250r" with a totally different type of 2-stroke motor. Here is an idea, why not use shutters that open and close like a camera to let in fuel and air. Its not a new idea, it just hasn't been prodution yet. Also, when fuel cell technology comes out, they may use the idea in recreation vehicals as well. If all else fails, talk to me in 20 years, you will be able to buy a brand new 2 stroke engine from me.
