MX racing?

What association do you have to go through to do mx racing? What all is involved as far as getting into the races and which would be better a Shee or 250R?

well a 250R is better for MX. your gonna need nerfs, teather kill, and normal gear, contact the AMA. they'll point you in the right direction to the closest sanctioned track to you

trx 250r are the best for mx i can beat a yfz450 in a race and i am all stock be sides i have pipe , nerfs ,carb plastic, beadlocks and plastic is all i have and the 450 was stock to

You'll need a district card for whatever district that your in. But first you'll need an AMA card, unless your on a quad then either AMA or ATVA card. Or go to the local track that you wanna race at and they will have all the forms to fill out for both the district and AMA cards.
Youll need nerf bars, a working tether kill switch, they will check it, race #'s on front and both rear fenders and most want one in the rear also. Youll get your race # from your district card. If your under 18 youll have to have your parents signature to race. And youll need a helmet, goggles, gloves, boots, and preferably rider pants and a chest protector.

I use my banshee for mx, i haven't raced, but it does damn well if you ask me. That crap saying the front end is too heavy is a lie, i can barely keep it down. but i've only ridden a lt250r on the track otherwise. I prefer banshee.

ive ben raceing a banshee for three and a half years done well but thats the only thing ive ever raced i would like yfz 450 but got a ton in the bansh

I run my SHEE in MX, I learned its all about how you adjust your body....Learned the hard way that the SHEE likes to dip in the front when I nose dived into a double...
