i got 2 sets of carbs because they were given to me. and its drag port as far as i know it has the tranfers drilled in the side walls of the cylinder with the welds u can see on the outside. it seems to pull hard as soon as i get in to the mid range. when i drag full throttle no problems. i usually ride half to full throttle all the time anyway. why cant u get the pjs to idle and the pwks u can.

The welds are most likely where extra boost ports were drilled and inlarged enough that extra metal was needed. It isnt that uncommon, I have cut through before cutting boost ports. If I had a picture I would show you but I dont. Think of cutting the boost ports like a 250 has in a stock banshee jug, then look at the outside of your jug and think about how much material is there to make them in. Then you will understand. Just to clear up the welds, the carbs I dont have enough experience with to point yay or nay.

fiveonick, u have done some porting?? and what exactly is done to trail port compared to a drag port and pros and cons. what does the boost port do? if u can , explain what the tranfers from the bottom of cylinder to and threw the cases do and do u port those to. and what do u port match?

In my opinion a trail port on a banshee is anywhere from a 28.5-28mm exhaust and a 43-43.5mm transfer. Banshees love a spec within those ranges. The power gained from the amount of work done is tremendous. If cut conservatively the powerband tends to widen and the whole motor gains power throughout. A Drag port would be more like a 26mm exhaust putting you more up in the high 190deg range with a increased transfer blowdown to boot.

I dont cut any wholes through the cases, just boost ports from the bottom of the intake through the side at an angle into the secondary transfer. I beleive they add torque throughout the powerband leading to a smoother transition of power, some people dont like them some do. They can also create better transfer flow at high rpm if cut correctly. On a all out drag motor I probably would not cut them because of the fact that the intake will be hogged out so large to begin with that there would not be room to effectively cut a boost that would help flow. You can help that by building up a tig welded area before hand but Im not sure how much you are helping if any for all the extra work. Like I said some like them some do not, they can run well with and without.
