If your dead set on not running the blaster mx, then you'r best bet is to go with a 4-stroke or 250r if you can find one. Banshees can be just as competitive as the other atv's, but it just takes a little more money to do it. I know it may be hard to find a 250r, but if your patient, then the wait will pay off. 250r's handle extremely good for stock, and it is cheaper to modify than a banshee. Heck, my +2 a-arms were only $85 from a guy online. Since 250r's were/are so popular in the MX scene, there is a ton of stuff to buy used or new from an aftermarket company. Basically, you just need to be patient, research a lot, and "try them on for size", meaning that you should ride some shee's and R's and see what YOU like better.

Basically it comes down to this, power isnt everything in MX, handling and weight are more important. So look at it this way a banshee has power but none of the other things, and in order to make it handle and shave some pounds your looking at some serious cash when you can jump on a R and be competitive. Also whats wrong with the blaster that you dont want to MX it? youd prolly be happier with a 250R or even a 4 poke then you would a banshee IMHO for MX, now for duning its deff banshee territory.

banshees aren't the best for mx but if you can throw your weight around and handle your bike i don't see a problem with it as long as you have the right suspension and wheels and stuff. . .

but if you wanna get into mxing regularly you could think about buying a 250r. . .
(i know five hundred people arlready told you that)

now its 501....mwhahaha. Stick to the light small bikes and leave the banshees for dragging, dunning, or even Flat tracking/ice racing

I have rode a banshee a few times that has roll design suspension with axis shocks all the way around. While it does handle much much better and is a blast in the sand its still not a 250r. The motor is relatively cheap to setup though. Just some mild porting with a head to match and some PT mids and it will rip through most of the rpm's building a very usable powerband.

not only hell on your body, on your machine too, make sure you have "able" suspension, or the sport will be much more expensive than you bargained for.
