Default Motorama

So did any of you guys go to Motorama this weekend (Feb 18th and 19th)? For those of you who don't know, Motorama is an annual event that takes place in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. There are all kinds of events from a "tuner" car show, trials motorcycles and bicycles, go kart racing, pit bike racing, and even a bikini and booty shaking contest, among other things. There is also plenty of vendors that sell everything from clothing to ATV and motorcycle accessories. The most popular part of the two day show is the ATV and motorcycle racing for sure. The arena is jam packed.

I was there and the quad racing was really disappointing this year. There were 2 small doubles on the track and one large double. Almost nobody was doing the small doubles and only Jason Dunkleberger was doing the big double. Two years ago he did the triple there, but he didn't do it this year. That's probably because he didn't need to. It was such an unfair race. It was a pro racing against amateurs. Besides Dunkleberger, most of the guys plain old sucked! There was one Banshee and a couple 250Rs and none of them qualified for the main. There was a lot of Lost Creek sponsored riders, and let me tell you, I'd say all of them, but Dunks sucked. I honestly don't know how they got sponsored! Now I'm not going to claim I would do all those jumps, but I wasn't out there pretending to be a racer either! So if any of you guys in PA want an easy win, go to Motorama next year. Just don't try to compete with dunks in the expert class.

The bikes were pretty good and most of the experts were doing all of the jumps, including the triple. Most of the 85cc and up guys did all of the doubles, though. And to show how pathetic the quad racers were, one of the kids did the double on his 65cc bike. He didn't win, but the crowd went nuts and the little kid loved it. A guy on a pit bike also did the double.

I was there, like you said, the races were pretty dissappointing, the most entertaining thing was the 125 Novice practice, it was mayhem, hahaha. They need to set something up different next year, something a little more challenging. And the quad's were SOOOO boring, so repetitive, they rolled nearly ever jump! Definitely worth the $20 though!!!

Yeah that practice was mayhem. I know exactly what you mean. They kept coming up short on that double and eating crap. The 85cc (expert, I think) final was mayhem too. There were three wrecks and two kids got taken out on stretchers. I hope they're both OK. There was a scary yet funny moment in the 65cc final too. Some little kid came out of the whoops completely out of control and he hit the wall face first with the throttle pinned wide open. When we saw it we all cringed, but the kid got up, jumped back on his bike, and went right back to racing like nothing happened. It was funny after seeing he was fine. That was a tough little kid.

Hahaha, some of those 65 racer's are crazy. That track wasn't the safest either. I noticed a lot of close call's with the quad's, right where they would come off the big double flying down the "straightaway" before the whoops, and other quad's going wide on the hairpin turn before the triple, some were coming within 2 feet of each other!

Can't wait for next year!!!

Yeah that was a great recovery from Dunks. When he crashed, I was afraid he wouldn't make it to the finals, but he stepped up big time. I think it would be intimidating riding with Dunks. You know that he's good and insane so you have to step up pretty big when riding with him.
