The boys 18. He started riding late, around 15.

I've been looking at the soft armor too. Looks like it'd at least help a bit as oppossed to t-shirt armor. I went down to a sports shop and looked at baseball catcher gear. The chest and stomach area is really nicely padded, and only $40.

Yeah, the drill kinda hurt but it was so fast I didnt really feel it for about 10 minutes. I knew I'd done it, of course, but the damage was to the extent that you don't feel it for a little bit. I was lucky I wasnt using my new pilot tip carbide bits, they would have shredded the tendon. As it was, the old style drill bit just pushed the big tendon at the back of the thumb aside without damaging it. No stitches, I avoid them like the plague. They're great for causing bigger scars than the original cut.

LOL!!!!!!!! Scars are cool?!!! There is obviously a huge generation gap between us then. 4 bullet holes, uncountable knife and flack scars, burn scars, and those are just my service memento's. Having been a mechanic since god banged rocks to make dirt has left my hands nothing but one big scar apiece. There comes a point where scars just don't seem cool anymore. Though I can say the only scar I have from my riding is a small one on my right shin from the infamous Honda forward kick levers.

I still have a burn on my leg from 11 years ago. I was riding a honda trike (4-poke and not mine) I was going around a turn and a guy on a dirtbike came through and clipped one of my side tires. It wasn't horrible, but that sucker pussed for 2 months!!!

I fell off the blaster in mid air, got my left leg sucked under the tire, had the blaster land on my knee twisting it, ohh before that my kjnee slammed into the footpeg when it was pulled down buy the tire...and then it ran the rest of me over. The 2 cuts on my left knee from the footpeg bled through 4 bandaids....

Then you know I got the usual tree branch scratches, cig burns, lighter burns, scars from my cat lol, couple other nicks and dings
