you want a clutch cover or a LH case ?
the clutch cable mount can be welded and repaired or cut off and a bracket bolted on

i need help with the case itself.
not the mount....it's a hole that has been tapped into the case....i think it holds the aluminum tube looking thing in the case(sorry on the lack of technical terms).

at the end of the cable is the arm,the arm bolts on to the aluminum "tube",
the "tube" goes into the case, but right below where it enters is the problem bolt.
HELP ME!!!!!i don't wanna buy a case! and i'm supposed to go to jhonson valley this weekend!

I sounds to me like he is trying to say the threads are stripped for the clutch release pinion retaining bolt...

I would either have the threads welded up and re-tapped or make an oversize retaining bolt...

Is the bike ridable with out the bolt? If so... just ride it until you can get the cover fixed or replaced... or just epoxy the bolt in place til after the weekend...

thats a hard place to helicoil i would get the right bolt see how it fits if their are any threads left if their is pull it back out clean up where the threads are and loctite it that bolt doesn't do much on the 85-86's they let the seal hold the shaft

I'd buy the new right bolt and try dome of th loctite thread saver again that bolt doesn't do a lot it's a straight cut pinion so it doesn't have thrust on it
