Unhappy TRX 250r rear shock needs work

Ever since I bought my 250r over a year ago the rear shock has always seemed too stiff. I adjusted the knob on the side of the rezzi all the way loose but the suspension didn't seem to get any softer. All my friends bikes sag a lot more when I sit on them than mine does. I am going to send it to gt thunder but I don't know what to tell them to do. Should I have them just rebuild it or have them revalve it also. I don't really understand what revalving does. If someone can explain it I would appreciate it. I don't want to ship it there and pay to have it rebuilt and get it back and it still be too stiff. Thanks for the help.

Jay

re-valve and re-sprung for your weight.

valving just adjusts the amont of oil that can flow through the valve. more fluid that can flow between the valve and into the chambers the softer the suspension will ride. the less fluid the more stiff.

alos if the spring is too stiff will ride stiff and rebound quicker, to soft of a spring will rebound slower and have a softer ride with more bottoming. the guys at GT thunder should be able to hook you up right. they will probably ask you for your weight (with or without gear) and then use their valving charts to come up with the best solution for you.

hope that helps

that valve on the rezzie is not for stiffness it is how fast or slow the spring goes back up after being compressed what you need to turn is the little screw that is on the bottom of the shock on the right side of the quad is says S for soft and H for hard or something youll figure it out turn it and it should fix the problem

Damnit. I was afraid that might have been the wrong adjustment. Well I am sure it still needs to be gone thru being as old as it is. Thanks for the info guys.

Well unless i'm having a massive brain fart or the TRX shock is way different from most..

the adjustment of the rezzi controls the stiffness of the compression stroke while the adjuster on the bottom controls the rebound.

if this shock is like any other shock...

So would compressing the spring with the adjusters at the top help anything? It seems that would stiffen things up. I'm a 200lb rider on a atc250r. I don't do allot of jumping, mostly woods riding. Would a revalved shock be worth my money?

Also has anyone used a white bros rear shock? I found a guy that say he has 1 that has just been rebuilt for a 200lb rider.
