Hi Westline,

First, they are forks. In another post you mentioned that they "went out". What happened, why do you need to rebuild them?

I would recommend taking them to a professional. Either a local suspension guy or send them out. Don't bring them to a dealer, they cost too much and most techs don't know a thing about boingers. A good local guy should be able to do seals and oil for about $125-$150. If your issues are beyond that, expect more of course.

Fork oil changes and seal/bushing replacements can be done by most riders with the right recources. Minimum you'll need, the correct size fork seal driver , the correct size allen driver to remove the base valve (large, 17mm I think, I can go check mine), a clean flat work surface, 1-2 cans of brake cleaner per fork (alcohol based if possible, like WURTH), an order and sequence to work by or someone experienced to watch over your shoulder.

Let me know If I can help more.

Good luck

Ian

i've rebuilt many a set of front forks and they aren't that hard to do. a manual helps alot and knowing the right amount of oil would be the most important part to me. that way they don't blow out to soon.
