i took my stock cr 250 scilencer and cut it to what a fmf shorty would be. it made it real loud no doubt. but once i got it jeted it has more down low snap

glad it was an improvment for you ...on a 2 stroke the silencer does very little to alter the powerband noticably .

ID of the silencer does alot. Overall length does a little. We tune with inserts and transitions. If you are looking for more up top, then put a insert in either the end or the transition between teh pipe and silencer. More bottom leave it empty or open it up some.
