k i know i know its prolly been brought up hundreds of times before but what do you guys think. If i take a peace of 2.625 ss tube and cap off the end, put a 1 inch hole at each end and leave the inside of the pipe empty will that do anything to effect my 88 blaster??? will it work???

you gotta put a tube thru the middle, too. if not, it becomes a chamber that will affect the performance of the bike. (prob for the worse) might wanna poke some 1/8 " holes in the side of your inner pipe and pack the chamber with muffler packing--

Sounds like a cool project. Don't forget you'll need a spark arrestor in there, does Michigan heavily enforce it?

Yep they do and already thought have that..

why i wanna do it. well i got the tube and the tools. why not lol.

You can try to build your silencer based on a current dirt bike spark arrestor.
Also, Alba sells spark arrestor kits with USFS approval decals!

why not just get on ebay and buy a usedone for less the price it cost to make a crappy one tha twill impede power and fall apart the second ride out lol

because like i said before i already have the tube 110 feet of it and the tools. (Drill press, bansaw, tig and mig welder, breakpress <- not needed for this job. plasma cutter) and im bored.

ill take pics through the whole job set by set when i finaly get around to makeing it. might go start right now.
