 Yea I was going to say what does a silencer matter if its well packed or not, all it does is silence the expansion chamber. Everyone always told me expansion chambers with no silencers made the real power and silencers dont do anything. My packing is shot... soaked in oil and my bike runs better than it did with the good packing in it.

| Silencers affect the bleed-down pressure in the pipe. An unpacked silencer will cause turbulence and this will produce a higher back pressure in the pipe at high rpm and could increase the temperature of the piston crown and could cause the piston to seize in the cylinder.OR change the exhaust wave in a matter that the exhaust will not create its turbo affect fully. Thus reducing power..Louder dose not always mean faster...

| My silencer is packed tho it just dosent absorb the sound waves.

| If you repacked your silencer too tightly, it won't do much for quiteing the noise. Remove a little and try again. |
