Hey guys whats up? i was talking to my friend today and he said that running my bike with no packing in my silencer is good for the bike and will give me more power. i have no idea so i was wondering what you guys know about this. all i could think of what that all it would do would make it louder. thanks later

actually no silencer packing causes more turbulence in the silincer. if it did anything it would cause a loss of power but i dont think you would notice a diffrence. heres what i do: go get some heavy duty aluminum foil and wrap the baffle in it. make sure you get it to lay on there as flat and smooth as possible then tie it on with saftey wire and reassemble your silencer. it makes a good sound.

So you just pull out the baffle...tak out the packing...and wrap the baffle w. aluminum foil? And taht acts as packing?

A pipe is built to be tuned with a certain back pressure no packing defeats this purpose and will kill performance.....Don't be so cheap and go buy a couple dollar packing kit and do it right......

hmmmmmmmmmm i didnt know it would cause a power loss so if i put in race packing would it be louder and more power or would their be no diff?

you wont notice much in power from a silencer no matter what. 2 strokes respond to different pipes but the silencer really dosnt matter much.. I would not take the packing out. if you want more power go to ebay and spend the $40 or so on a used fmf silencer or sumthing. thats it..
