Question How to build a 2-stroke muffler the right way ??



Hello !

What should I think about when I building my own muffler/silencer for a 2 stroke engine ?

Some guidelines ?
How to ?
Do and dont's ?



Engine : Rotax 793 HO

Max Rpm : 8000 rpm

Number of cylinders : 2

Max output : 140 Hp

Carb : 2 * Mikuni TM-40

I want to build my own muffler/silencer because there is no one out there for my aplication.....

Someone have some advice ?

I visited Sweden just over a year ago. Beautiful country, & Beautiful vehicles.
As for the silencer, I also have to admit that buying one is the most beneficial choice. However if you have a fabrication shop, they could be made. Does it have to be Spark Arrested?

that and your going to have to special order the muffler bearings. You could try and build them yourself but its alot of work

He was implying a joke. All you need is a outer case with a tube traveling though it, but in the tube must have holes all thru it (see pictures). I would reccomend using Aluminum.
The smaller tube with holes then gets wrapped in a fiberglass cloth.
