Default silencers importance...?

Exactly how important are silencers.. what happens if you dont run one?

I know they are to make it quiet but why do you HAVE to have them?

asking b/c my silencer met the ground today and is done for

its not good to run with out a tail pipe.
it causes back pressure issues and is hard
on the piston.

well would running the straight pipe on the header without the canister work?.. it's got dents in it the mount is snapped off the other mount is twisted and the pipe itself is bent alont with ripping the pipe clamp in half and the surface where the canister bolts to the pipe is actually peeled apart away from eachother ..

anyone have a silencer forsale.. although I have no money to put in the bike all my money goes in the car so anyone need anything to trade maybe?

a drag pipe with no silencers is engineered fora given tuned length and proper backpressure at certain rpms ofr the reverse sonic wave any change will have negative effects likewise the inframe version is made this way for a reason any change by removing the silencer will surely hinder the potential ,in other owrds youll only lose power, sure it sounds cool loud and raspy but if yo u threw it up on a dyno and tested it youd see you lost power ,like o n a shearer inframe just removing the silencer automaticly loses 4 hp.keep in mind they are made with silencers for its intended purpose theres R and D and countless hours of testing ot make a 2 stroke pipe

Tuned exhaust length. It means something. My friend had a YZ250 and his 6'7" ass pushed the suspension so hard the silencer rubbed the tire, wore down, and the packing blew out the side. He rode it like that for a long time and never maintained his bike. He just rode it that way. No rejetting. It got hot as hell. And when we got pulled over, the DNR officer burnt his hand on it checking for a spark arrestor. Poor guy couldn't even write the ticket. Oh and check out the wire cord holding the seat on. Damn that's an old picture.
