$35 Indy 500...Should I take it?

I was working today (installing internet) and a guy offered me a 1990 Indy 500 with 3400 miles on it for $35. He is in the middle of replacing a couple of bearings and a chain. He said the clutch kinda bogs from 0-10 mph then it is fine. I noticed the track is getting towards the end of its life. Supposedly, the engine runs great. The owner just bought a 2006 Ski-Doo and I think he has another Artic Cat and he is wanting to get this sled out of his garage. I am woundering if I should take it...or is it going to be a huge project? Anyone with any experience with these...things to look for....thoughts....please let me know!!!!! I have always kinda wanted a sled....nothing fancy....just something to putts around in the ditches with.

i'd buy it for $35 shoot, you probably could part it out for atleast double if you had probs with it.

Yeah really, sell one part for $35 & the rest of the part out would be profit.

i'd take it, make sure it's not hot... but yeah i'd take it

100% take it. If i can get anythngi cheap i get it...do some work to it. If its future its hopeful i keep working on it then ill sell it. If not i see if anyone needs parts for it then i usually scrap it.
