Default old massey ferguson troubles

I have this old 1971 Ski Whiz. I am trying to get it running again. I rebuilt both carbs and changed the points and plugs. It doesn't want to fire over. When i yank the cord it sounds like it kicks itself over, but then it dies. I pulled the plugs and they are wet with fuel and look like they are brand new (no black/brown). I would think that if it were firing the plugs would be brown at the least. So i guess it has no spark. I double checked the points gap and that is right. But i would think at least one cylinder should fire. It seems rare that neither cylinder fires. I have the ignition to "on "and the kill switch is off. I tried pushing the kill switch to on with the same results. Does anybody have any insight? Thanks ...............and also, it does have good compression.

like gassrx said check your needle and seat but also a good way to check and see if it has spark is to take the spark plug out and touch it to the top of your cylinder while you pull it over and see if the spark plugs spark. Make sure you hold the rubber and not the spark plug otherwise itll give ya a tickle.
if thats not it, it may be your coil

The carbs have no float. They are Tillotson diaphragm type. They use engine vaccum
to continuously circulate fuel through them. And the plugs were wet when i pulled them.

put a shot of start fluid down the cyclinder.. that will get the vacum started and suck the fuel in faster.

put a good plug on the plug wire and set the plug on a metal and crank the engine. should have spark, if not check flywheel key and test coil if u can get spec as for the plug if there is no fuel being burnt then the plug will not get discolored

if it has 2 coils. probably not make sure they both have power and good ground, are the wires on the correct cylinder? ive had bad ign switches before if its a 2 wire ign sw then just make a jumpter wire to go between the wires that should work, if th plugs are wet then its getting fuel could be timming, spark, compression, whats the compression when was the last time it ran

It hasn't ran for at least 5 years. The compression is enough to make it hard to pull. It ran good before it sat. So timing should be good. I'll try the ign jumper and get back to you. If the coils are positioned on the corresponding cylinders then the wires are on the right plugs.
