Cuyuna440 Runs Wide Open Then Stops

I put a used 440 Cuyuna motor in my Scorpion.Got new plugs fresh fuel started it up and the engine ran wide open for a minute then quit.Did this twice.I notice the gas primer holes in the intake are not pluged.Maybe sucking air there, or head gaskets,cylinder base gaskets, crank case etc.Compression is 140 140. Need some help.Thanks

Make sure your slide in the carb is in right, and plug that hole see if it helps, if not start checking for leaks.

get those primer holes plugged!!!!!!! You will have see through pistons if you don't! Beleive me I did it to a scorpion whip
